Introduction

Understanding what’s inside the heads of engineers who have high salaries

Demand for engineers continues to rise around the world. The increase in the number of highly productive engineers will assist in advancing global technological progress. In principle, it can be inferred that the salaries of highly productive engineers are high. What, then, are these highly paid engineers thinking, and what actions are they taking? The purpose of this competition is to make that clear and to show many engineers how to increase their market value.

The goal of this competition is to predict engineer salaries using a survey with over 100 questions administered to approximately 90,000 engineers on Stack Overflow. The survey includes a wide range of questions including the respondents’ history, skills, and thoughts on machine learning.
